COVID-19 Restrictions Lifting: Get Up-To-Date Now
As restrictions continue to be lifted, there are many questions as to what you can do.
It is expected that cinemas, libraries and swimming pools will be opened within days.
Each venue will need to comply with social distancing rules.
Make sure that you do your research before you arrive at a venue โ you may need to make a booking or undergo temperature checks.
The Facts
- Interstate Visitors โ Interstate visitors are allowed to visit you in Queensland for essential medical purposes or compassionate grounds i.e. caring for terminally ill relative or a funeral. This does not include
- Fitness Clubs โ Gyms, health clubs and yoga studios can only operate if supervised and staff are available to regularly clean, and enforce social distancing.
- Cinemas โ Cinemas will be opening at each cinemaโs discretion. Indoor cinemas must only have a maximum of 20 customers.
- Travel To New South Wales โ Crossing the border for non-essential reasons remains prohibited and upon returning to Queensland a Queensland Entry Pass must be obtained, in addition to quarantine if travel was to a COVID-19 hotspot.
- Pubs โ Venues have been advised best practice is to limit walk-in and interaction at the counter by using online or phone bookings.
- Sporting Venues โ Stage 3 of the State Governmentโs reopening roadmap will allow 100 persons to attend a sporting venue.
- NRL Games โ No spectators will be allowed at this stage, but this will be reviewed regularly over time with sporting bodies.
- North Stradbroke Island Ferries โ The ferries will begin weekend operations on Saturday, 13 June 2020.
- Resort Restaurants โ Only 20 patrons are allowed in the venue at a time, per room.
- Junior Sport Matches โ There will be a 20-person-per-game rule in place and includes players, coaches and spectators. ย
- Coffee Shops โ You are required to continue to provide your contact details when sitting at a coffee shop.
- Gaming Venues โ Reopening from Friday, 10 July 2020 with a maximum of 100 people. This includes casinos, gaming rooms and gambling venues.
- Nightclubs โ Reopening from Friday, 10 July 2020 with a maximum of 100 people.
- Church / Funeral Choirs โ Stage 2 of the State Governmentโs reopening roadmap allows choirs of up to 20 people to sing in a single, undivided indoor or outdoor space.
Regardless, the key message is that social distancing measures will need to be followed strictly to avoid penalties.
