“District and Supreme Courts have suspended jury trials and are only hearing sentences in limited circumstances.

Magistrates Courts have reduced the type of matters that they are hearing and require all matters to be heard by telephone or video link.  From 20 April 2020, the Magistrates Courts may hear a wider range of matters including pleas of guilty and committal hearings.

There is uncertainty about what these changes mean for our clients.

“Some criminal and traffic matters will be delayed.
