Our experienced property settlement lawyers understand the law and get results. We know what it takes to get you your full entitlement.

We are proud to have settled countless property settlement matters for clients:

The Law

The Family Law Act 1975 (“the Act”) sets out the law on how property settlements are worked out.

Normally, proceedings are commenced no later than 12 months after a divorce.

Actions we will take include:

  • explaining all issues to you,
  • guiding you through the four stages of a property settlement,
  • identifying your superannuation splitting entitlements, and
  • obtaining the best possible outcome.

Initial Consultation

The first step is to attend an initial consultation, at any of our local offices or by telephone or video-conference.

The meeting provides you with an opportunity to:

  • meet your dedicated lawyer,
  • discuss issues,
  • identify your options,
  • map solutions, and
  • receive an estimate of costs.

It also provide the perfect opportunity to have a no obligation, confidential discussion about your family law matter.

Most importantly, the time spent allows you to assess whether our family lawyer is the right one for you during this important, and often stressful, transition in your life.

Our experienced property settlement lawyers may be able to assist you on a deferred fee basis, if eligible. This means:

  • your legal fees can be paid at predetermined stages,
