Easter 2020: How To Avoid A Fine

The effects of social distancing are beginning to show in Queensland, with a reduction in COVID-19 cases yesterday.

With Easter approaching it is important you continue to follow health directions to avoid being fined by police.

So what exactly can, and what you cannot, do this Easter?

  • No attendance at churches.
  • You can only have 2 visitors to your home, at a time – no big lunches with the family.
  • No unnecessary trips away from home – leave only for food, medicine, exercise, essential work, visit a terminally ill relative or attend a wedding or funeral.
  • No visiting the beach (unless you live there).
  • If you live near the beach you can go swimming or surfing, but only if the beach is open.
  • No visiting your friends or family over the Queensland borders.
  • No leaving the house just because you need to get away for a few hours.

Break the health directions and you could be facing a fine of $1,334.
