A New Year, A New Renewal Agreement

The Situation: Our client was the franchisee of a national coffee shop in Queensland. The arrangement was approaching renewal and we were tasked with completing a comprehensive review of the franchise agreement, licence agreement and security deed.

After receiving copies of the documentation, we conducted a detailed review of the agreements. We addressed any concerns our client had in regards to the documentation and provided detailed advice regarding our client’s rights and obligations under the renewed franchised agreement, including development costs, franchise fees, weekly reporting obligations, insurances and special conditions.

We also ensured all declarations had been correctly completed and executed within the specified time-frames to ensure the franchise agreement did not expire.
